Localized Route Recommendations:

Eastbound Massachusetts Ave:

• Option 1:
  • Travel around Scott Circle to Rhode Island Ave
  • Follow Rhode Island Ave to avoid the Convention Center area road closures

• Option 2:
  • Take 13th Street NW to H Street NW
  • Follow H Street NW to Massachusetts Ave NW

Westbound Massachusetts Ave:

• Option 1:
  • Take Massachusetts Ave to make a left on 9th Street NW
  • Make a right onto H Street NW
  • Take a right onto 12th Street NW
  • Make a left back onto Massachusetts Ave NW

• Option 2:
  • Take Massachusetts Ave to make a left on C Street SE
  • Make another left onto C Street NE
  • Take a right onto Maryland Ave NE
  • Make a right onto Constitution Ave NE

Eastbound New York Ave:

• Make a right onto H Street NW from New York Ave NW
• Follow H Street NW east to make a right onto Massachusetts Ave NW

Westbound New York Ave:

• Option 1:
  • Make a left onto 6th Street NW from New York Ave NW
  • Turn right onto H Street NW
  • Make a right onto 12th Street NW
  • Make a left onto Massachusetts Ave NW

• Option 2:
  • Make a right onto Florida Ave NE from New York Ave NE
  • Follow Florida Ave NE north onto U Street NW

Eastbound K Street/L Street:

• Make a right onto 13th Street NW
• Take a left onto H Street NW
• Follow H Street east to make a right onto Massachusetts Ave NW.; or make a right onto 3rd Street NW to access I-395 via 3rd Street Tunnel

Northbound 7th Street:

• Take a right onto E Street NW
• Make an immediate left onto 6th Street NW
• Follow 6th Street NW north

Southbound 7th Street/9th Street:

• Make a right onto Rhode Island Ave NW
• Follow Logan Circle around to make a right onto 13th Street NW
• Continue south on 13th Street NW

Westbound H Street to Access Westbound Massachusetts Ave NW:

• Follow H Street NW west
• Make a right onto 12th Street NW

Gateway Route Recommendations:

Route 50 – John Hanson Hwy (MD) and Baltimore-Washington Pkwy (MD):

• Option 1:
  • Continue westbound on New York Ave NW
  • Make a right onto Florida Ave NE from New York Ave NE

• Option 2:
  • Travel further south on DC-295 to SE freeway

Northbound I-295:

• Use either S. Capitol Street bridge or 11th Street bridge to get to points downtown and follow local route recommendations

I-66, US 50, I-395 and George Washington Parkway:

• Traffic may follow their usual routes into Downtown and follow local route recommendations to bypass the Mt. Vernon closure area

Suitland Parkway, Clara Barton Parkway, US-29, and US Route 1:

• Traffic may follow their usual routes into Downtown and follow local route recommendations to bypass the Mt. Vernon closure area
