Mayor Bowser to Announce Great Streets Grant Recipients
(Washington, DC) – Tomorrow, Mayor Muriel Bowser and the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development will announce the FY16 Great Streets and Emerging Business Improvement Districts (BID) Grantees. The announcement furthers Mayor Bowser’s efforts to support and grow local and small businesses across the District.
There are over 90 FY16 grantees who will receive over $5 million in funding.
The Great Streets program has been an effective commercial revitalization initiative that has transformed emerging corridors throughout the District of Columbia into thriving and inviting neighborhood centers. Since 2012, the Great Streets Program has helped over 220 local businesses create over 2,000 jobs.
