Mayor Bowser to Celebrate Leap Day With a Visit to the L.E.A.P Academy
On Monday, February 29 at 10 am, Mayor Muriel Bowser will celebrate Leap Day 2016 with a visit to the Department of Public Works mechanics garage where DC residents are in training as a part of the L.E.A.P. (Learn, Earn, Advance, Prosper) Program, established last year. By using the earn-and-learn approach, the DC L.E.A.P. Academy Phase I trains District residents for jobs in the District government’s in-demand areas while allowing individuals to earn wages, accumulate work experience and obtain credentials.
