Mayor Muriel Bowser to Mark Full Deployment of Body-Worn Cameras
(WASHINGTON, DC) – On Thursday, December 15, at 2 pm, Mayor Muriel Bowser will provide updates on the deployment of MPD's body-worn cameras program and discuss progress on the efforts for a safer, stronger DC. In one of the most comprehensive program in the country, the District will outfit all MPD patrol officers with body-worn cameras while experiencing overall decreases in homicides, robberies and assaults with dangerous weapons. Mayor Bowser and MPD Interim Police Chief Peter Newsham will speak to officers during roll call before taking questions from the media.
