Statement from Mayor Bowser on Pepco/Exelon Merger Denial

(Washington, DC) – Today, the Public Service Commission of the District of Columbia voted to deny an application for acquisition of Pepco Holdings, Inc. by Exelon Corporation. In response, Mayor Muriel Bowser released the following statement:

“I support the decision against the proposed merger. Moving forward, we want to ensure that DC utility ratepayers receive quality service, that we maintain and grow jobs in the District, and that we keep DC on our continued path toward sustainability.”
