(Washington, DC) With the Thanksgiving holiday almost here, the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) urges those using the roads to be aware of some upcoming closures. 

Following are some events, which may impact your commute.  

Event: Macy’s Holiday Window Unveiling  Date: Saturday November 22    Time: 2 pm until 4 pm Location: G Street, NW between 12th and 13th Streets The streets will be closed from 6 am to 8 pm.  Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) will manage all closures   Event: Thanksgiving Day Trot for Hunger  Date: Thursday November 27  Time: 8:30 am until 10:30 am Location: Pennsylvania Avenue, NW between 12th and 14th   Route: 

• Start and Finish on Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, between 3rd and 14th Streets; Constitution Avenue, NW, from 4th Street, NW, to 1st Street, NW
• 3rd Street, NW, between Pennsylvania Avenue, NW and E Street, SW
• E Street, SW, between 3rd Street, SW, and 4th Street, SW
• 4th Street, SW, between E Street, SW and Independence Avenue, SW
• Independence Avenue, SW, between 3rd Street, SW and 1st Street, SW
• Maryland Avenue, SW, between 3rd Street, SW and 1st, Street SW
• 1st Street, SW between Constitution Avenue, NW, and Maryland Avenue, SW

Street Closures: Same as location from 5:30 am to 12:30 pm

MPD will handle all closures
